Hi! I am Steffany Hudson. I have been a Marine spouse for over seventeen years, and I am a mom to two children. As a Marine spouse, I have always felt it is important to do what I can to support my husband’s fellow Marines and their spouses. I have been a Key Volunteer, Family Readiness Representative and Command Team Advisor. When we lived in Virginia, I worked at the Marine Corps League so that I could continue to support Marines of all ages. Last year I was the Scholarship Coordinator for the Cherry Point Spouse Club. This was such a rewarding position. We were able to give out $40,000 in scholarships to 30 recipients. During my time as a military spouse, I have learned the importance of connecting with other military spouses. No one can relate to you quite like they can. The bonds I have made with these spouses have truly stood the test of time. I hope this year as the Cherry Point Spouse Club President I can continue to unite spouses from all walks of life. We have an incredible group of women organizing social and philanthropic events. It is going to be a great year, and I hope you will be a part of it.

Hello! I am Katie Shorter, and we moved back to New Bern for the 4th time in 2010 for the last few years of my husband's 30-year career in the USMC. Marine Corps spouses are smart, independent, driven and resilient, and are often plenty busy with their careers and/or families; that being said, it is always nice to get together with spouses who "get" your life and are able to provide a level of support that only military spouses can! I can't tell you how many valuable lessons I have learned over the years (12 moves in 18 years) from my fellow spouses. My hope is that we are able to come together and have some fun celebrating each other and supporting each other during our time together.
Hello I'm a spouse of 19 years to my Marine. Most of those years have found us living here in Cherry Point. Have volunteered several years with the Cherry Point Spouse Club over the years as well, including the Treasurer and Parliamentarian roles in the past. As a mother to 3 children, and currently working to finish my bachelors degree in management through Park University here at Cherry Point, I understand that it's hard to juggle it all sometimes but it's worthwhile to be a part of the larger community surrounding the military spouse life. I am happy to be of some help in keeping this available for future spouses and hope to help make it something more will be a part of too.
As a mom of 2 girls under 6 and having just finished my counseling degree, I join the many Marine spouses juggling a job, single parenting and trying to find a balance with a little time for myself. One place I can always find support and understanding is with fellow Marine spouses. The Cherry Point Spouses Club not only provides an enormous amount of monetary support for Marine families in the way of scholarships and assistance, we also plan fun, engaging events throughout the year to bring spouses together. Having served as the secretary this past year, I am looking to move into the parliamentarian position. I look forward to being a part of the board in helping the club celebrate a new year of bringing us all back together after a year of isolation. It promises to be a great year!
